Witney youth in a spin at Pimp My Bike

This summer, over 15 young people aged 10-18, brought their broken BMX’s and rusted mountain bikes to Base 33, a youth centre in the heart of Witney, to take part in the workshop “Pimp My Bike”, a two day community-building workshop. Check out the film made by one of OYAP's Young Leaders, Sam Hamper...

Funded by Sanctuary with support from Cottsway Housing and West Oxfordshire District Council, Pimp My Bike saw young people learn to strip down and rebuild their bikes, whilst also “pimping” the bodywork with a spray paint makeover.

Participants were delighted that their hard work stripping, sanding and spraying had unleashed a new lease of life for their BMX's.

‘It’s amazing when you work at something how you can change"’

About Us

OYAP Trust (Oxfordshire Youth Arts Partnership) is Oxfordshire’s youth arts charity. Since 1998 we have worked in partnership with artists, community groups, creative practitioners and local authorities to bring the arts to the county’s most vulnerable 11-25 year olds.

Through projects like Pimp My Bike, Stepping Up and the Hill End project young people have increased their confidence, self esteem and gained recognition for their creativity through performance, exhibitions and the Arts Award qualification. OYAP Trust enables young people to use their creativity as a catalyst for change in their own lives and in their communities.
