In August 2016 OYAP Trust worked with Let’s Play in Banbury to provide creative activities for young people with disabilities during the summer holidays, as a part of the Oxfordshire County Council's Disability Breaks Programme.

The Studio Bicester

Founded by the Youth of Bicester (YoBs), The Studio was once an empty shop space and a depressing symbol of High Street recession in Crown Walk. The space was donated to OYAP by Sainsbury’s (as their charity of the year) for the YoBs to create Bicester's most vibrant and creative youth arts cafe!

Young Leaders

Stepping Up: The Next Creative Generation is an intensive course of training, learning, mentoring, project development and leadership for 18-25 year olds who are looking to start their creative career.

Youth Action Teams

OYAP's Youth Action Teams (YATs) are groups of creative young people aged between 11-25 years old. Their mission is to be, 'Kind, Creative and Visible' within their community. They hope to challenge the negative stereotypes that can be affixed to young people.

I am BoB

We, the Youth of Bicester, were inspired to make a book that gets to know the people in our community. Inspired by 'Humans of New York', iamBOB is a photography project which gets people talking. As a celebration of the unique and interesting people in out town, we published this book about Bicester.

Fragments (Family Breakups)

A ground-breaking arts project, designed to help young people across the country deal with the trauma of parental separation and divorce. OYAP Trust believes that the arts are a fundamental tool in coping with the effects of family breakdown. The website www.familybreakups.com was created. A website made by young people, for young people.

Pimp My Bike

Pimp My Bike is a two to three day community-building arts project. While a bike mechanic teaches bike maintenance and safety, a professional spray artist helps young people turn their rusty, unsafe old bikes into one off works of art.

Kick Arts

Using creativity and the irresistible qualities of the Arts, the Kick Arts flexi school programme has been proven to improve young people’s attitudes to and relationships with learning. Artists with special talent and experience of working with disengaged young people lead and inspire learning through a variety of art forms.

Superhero Special

In Summer 2014, OYAP Trust partnered with Yellow Submarine, an award-winning Oxfordshire charity, and the Witney Hub to devise a new 6 week project where young people with learning disabilities and autism explored a range of different art forms to create a Superhero magazine.

Playdays

National Playday has been running for 25 years, and celebrates children and young people's right to play freely in their communities. Oxfordshire Play Association organises Playday events across the county. OYAP leads Grafitti wall Art workshops at Playdays across Oxfordshire as well as a host of other events.

October half term 2014 saw a fantastic achievement by the young people of Oxfordshire. Inspired by the hugely popular Frozen film, OYAP presented a theatre, dance and set design project.

Earth Meets Sky Music Project

Earth Meets Sky was a songwriting, vocal performance technique and recording project with top music industry professionals taking place at The Mill Arts Centre over February half term. The project gave young people from across our 3 Youth Action Teams (Bretch Hill, Grimsbury and Bicester).

HACK IT -

Return to the Killer Robot Factory

In partnership with Autism Family Support Oxfordshire, OYAP Trust ran two two-day workshops where participants hacked into a robot game and turned it into a live installation using MaKey MaKey technology.
